Lambeth
Yay! Lambeth collects food waste for recycling into compost.
Does the council collect food waste from houses, and flats in converted houses?
Yes.
Does the council collect from purpose-built flats, and flats on estates?
No.
What about flats above shops?
No.
Can I get a caddy from the council?
Yes – the council provides both internal kitchen caddies and external (larger) ones. You can order new caddies and learn more about the service here: lambeth.gov.uk/foodwaste
Do I need to use liners? And what kind?
You can put food waste into a compostable liner before putting it outside into your brown bin, or you can put it in loose. Please make sure what you use has the seedling logo on it. If not using compostable liners, you may want to put a sheet or two of newspaper into the bottom of your brown bin to keep it clean.
Are the liners available for free?
No – you can buy them from local shops and supermarkets in Lambeth.
Where can I find more information about my council food waste recycling service?
