Does the council collect food waste from houses, and flats in converted houses?

Yes

Does the council collect from purpose-built flats, and flats on estates?

Yes – although not all estates have a food waste collection. Check locally or with your residents association if you don’t know if your estate has a service.

What about flats above shops?

No

Can I get a caddy from the council?

Yes – the council provides both internal kitchen caddies and external (larger) ones. Order them through your council account: https://myeaccount.islington.gov.uk/myeaccount/Account/Login.aspx

Do I need to use liners? And what kind?

Yes – please only use compostable starch liners, not plastic bags or biodegradable bags.

Are the liners available for free?

Yes – you can collect them from libraries around Islington, or buy them from local shops.
